The first step is usually to speak with your GP, who will review your history, arrange blood tests/semen analysis, and refer to the Assisted Reproduction Unit (ARU) if needed. It is also possible to self-refer to the ARU.
Once a referral has taken place you may undergo: pelvic ultrasound scanning, AMH (egg reserve) and hormone tests, cycle tracking, and additional investigations depending on your individual circumstances.
Where possible, natural conception is supported through cycle monitoring, lifestyle optimisation, and medical advice before assisted reproductive treatments are considered.
Following initial investigations into your fertility, the results will be discussed with you along with a plan for the next steps. Everyone is different and the advice will vary based on your unique circumstances.
